Comment se passe l’arrivée aux États-Unis ? Depuis l’atterrissage jusqu’à la récupération des bagages et le début de vos vacances, nous allons passer à la loupe votre parcours d’entrée sur le sol américain. Le process est très précis et varie selon le type de vol que vous avez choisi : direct ou avec escale, et dans cas-là, du lieu de la correspondance. Il y a 3 cas de figure…
Vous avez choisi un vol direct depuis l’Europe (à l’exception de l’Irlande)
- Si vous avez décidé d’utiliser l’appli Mobile Passport Control, activez-là dès votre descente d’avion.
- Vous passez l’immigration américaine.
- Vous allez récupérer votre bagage soute sur le carrousel.
- Vous passez la douane. Si vous n’avez rien à déclarer, suivez simplement la file « Nothing to declare » (rien à déclarer). Si nécessaire, remettez à un agent des douanes le formulaire de déclaration 6059B que l’on vous a éventuellement remis dans l’avion.
- Vous pouvez alors quitter l’aéroport et profiter de vos vacances.
Vous avez choisi un vol avec une escale sur le sol américain
- Si vous avez décidé d’utiliser l’appli Mobile Passport Control, activez-là dès votre descente d’avion.
- Vous passez l’immigration américaine.
- Vous allez récupérer votre bagage soute sur le carrousel.
- Vous passez la douane. Si vous n’avez rien à déclarer, suivez simplement la file « Nothing to declare » (rien à déclarer). Si nécessaire, remettez à un agent des douanes le formulaire de déclaration 6059B que l’on vous a éventuellement remis dans l’avion.
- Vous allez redéposer votre bagage soute sur le tapis « Connecting Flights ». Il suffit de suivre la signalétique.
- Vous rejoignez le terminal d’embarquement de votre second vol, un vol domestique.
- En arrivant à votre destination finale, vous pouvez directement allez récupérer votre bagage soute sur le carrousel et profiter de vos vacances.
Vous avez choisi un vol vers les États-Unis avec une escale au Canada ou en Irlande
- Si vous avez décidé d’utiliser l’appli Mobile Passport Control, activez-là dès votre descente d’avion.
- Vous passez l’immigration américaine en Preclearance (autrement dit en pré-contrôle), exactement de la même manière que si vous étiez aux États-Unis. Enfin presque, puisque l’officier va aussi afficher sur son écran la photo de votre bagage soute, vous demander de confirmer que c’est bien le vôtre. S’il a un doute, il pourra demander à ce que l’on sorte le bagage du circuit pour un examen physique approfondi. Vous l’avez compris, dans ce cas de figure, votre bagage suit automatiquement vers votre destination finale, inutile de s’en soucier.
- Une fois l’immigration américaine passée, vous êtes « virtuellement » aux États-Unis, prêts à prendre votre second vol vers la destination finale. Pour l’administration américaine, c’est donc un vol… domestique !
- À votre arrivée, vous pouvez directement aller récupérer votre bagage soute sur le carrousel et profiter de vos vacances.
